Extending God to Others

Serving Locally

As individuals at Evergreen feel drawn to serve in our community, their initiative leads the Church to participate in ministries such as the Loudoun Emergency Homeless Shelter, LifeLine crisis pregnancy center, Loudoun Free Clinic, and Loudoun Aftercare Program (for those just released from jail).  Led by our Youth, we also take monthly trips to share kindness, food, clothing, and prayer with people living in the parks and streets of Washington, D.C.

  • DC Urban Missions – Our next trip is planned for April 28. People of all ages are welcome to be part of this inspiring ministry, extending God’s love to His children living on the streets within blocks of the White House. Info from Ralph C.
  • Loudoun Emergency Homeless Shelter – April 18 is our next day for preparing and serving dinner. Please contact Michelle K. (Krehbiel.Michelle@gmail.com or 571-206-2226), or look at the online sign up.  Michelle serves as lead of this ministry.

Engaged Globally

Evergreen Church has sent out five international mission teams (to Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Guyana (South America), and Chile.  We’re looking to Haiti as a possible next mission trip.

  • Haiti – A team of United Methodists from our neighboring sister churches recently returned from Haiti. The United Methodist churches of the Winchester District (or which we are one) have committed to a 3-year missional relationship with a community on the island of La Gonave, Haiti. Rick Graves (who has himself already been to Haiti twice on missions trips) will be Evergreen’s point of contact.
